About Me

Hi, I am Finlay, an ambitious filmmaker with a focus on documentary, experimental, and psychological visual narratives.

Growing up in Los Angeles, film was something that felt incredibly close to home. At the age of 7 years old, I was given my first camera, and from that point on I never set it down again. After high school, I decided to pursue a higher education in Screen Studies and Psychology at The New School in New York City. Here, my creativity has flourished more than ever. Pursuing a dual-degree in Screen Studies and Psychology was a choice that I felt was necessary in order to effectively evoke emotion in an audience. Understanding how the mind physically and psychologically processes and perceives is an incredibly helpful tool for conveying a specific theme in any media form.

I specialize in 16mm filmmaking, cinematography, editing via Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve, and most importantly, working as a team member. Over the past two years I have had the privilege of working on a multitude of films—ranging from student short-films, to Sony Entertainment Pictures feature films.

Feel free to explore my work and contact me for potential collaborations, freelance opportunities, or just talk about all things film!
